Kanlidivane's history came from B.C 3 and means Blood Crazy.Here was blessed area for Olba Kingdom.But when you check ruins,you can see here was alive in Hellenistic Period.Then Roman Empire took the place.B.C 4 was golden time for here.Kanlidivane used as a blessed area for all times.At the last from Byzantine Empire II.Theodosius,made Christianity Center at Kanlidivane.Fifteen workshops with presses,press bearings,screw weights,press weight stones,crushing stones and crush stones founded when excavation made.Thoose are showing,Kanlidivane was olive oil production centre.Also the place has basilicas,streets,rock tombs,cisterns and one special tower.The tower made B.C 2 for Zeus by Tarkyaris's son Teukros.Today every year during Mersin International Music Festival, one or two outdoor concerts are held in Kanlidivane.The audiences and performers sit at the opposite sides of the sinkhole.
